The Mediterranean Diet is basically a diet that is a culmination of various types of cuisine from Greece, certain parts of europe and the middle eat and most countries that originate from around the Mediterranean Sea and might help with Chronic Tinnitus. The Mediterranean Diet got popular because around 1960, scientists discovered that folks who lived around the Mediterranean Sea tended to be healthier, live stress free and died quite a few years later than people in the rest of the world. So they wanted to discover what people in this part of the world ate and how they lived that was different from the way most of us live. And this is the short story regarding how this diet came to being.
The Journal of the American College of Cardiology did a study on The Mediterranean Diet in July 2004. In particular they studied the effect this practice had on their hearts and in particular studied the effects of inflammation on people who were eating these foods. Over 3,000 women and men from Greece participated in this study which took over a year. The studies proved that the people who never quit the diet had lower inflammation levels as well as less blood clotting. This study did a lot to prove that The Mediterranean Diet did a lot to protect the heart.
Since then there have been other successful studies done. One was from Wageningen University which is located in the Netherlands. This particular study focused on the elderly and certain measurable criteria were determined. If they used alcohol in moderation, were physically active 30 minutes every day, didn’t smoke and stuck to The Mediterranean Diet, they had an up to 65 percent less chance of dying than people who didn’t follow this diet or broke the other three rules.
